About the Author

Star has been an avid reader since she first learned how. As a student her teachers encouraged her creativity and helped her understanding of grammar and punctuation grow. Though she has been writing nearly as long as she has been reading, it was not until her husband sparked her interest in the fantasy world and her godsons were born that her ideas took flight.

Currently she lives in southern Wisconsin with her husband and holds a full-time job assisting him with his business.

Due to encouragement from my step-son, Brynden, and a preview I saw for the trailer online, I was prompted to pick up a copy of Eragaon and begin a new journey. It was hard for me to put aside Robert Jordan (anyone who has read The Wheel of Time Series understands what I mean) to explore something new, but what kind of writer would I be if I did not expand my mind and enjoy everything there is to offer. Here is what I discovered:

First, though Christopher Paolini is no Jordan, I am nearly finished with the book already. Brynden borrowed his copy to me last weekend. For those of you who don't know me, I'm a slow reader. Not because of difficulty with it, but because I have to make sure that I have the perfect scene painted in my mind and absolutely must absorb every detail.

Second, if anyone out there has read the book but knows nothing about the author, google his name. I mean it. Do a few minutes of research and you will be alarmed by what you learn. He graduated at 15 and started this trilogy then. By 19 he was a bestseller.

Now for all your other writers out there, his story creates a tumult of emotions. First is hope and happiness. Way to go Christopher, is what I say! Second is a feeling of vehement envy.

Okay, so it took him four years (roughly). But that time is from concept to bestseller, not creation. My first book is rapidly approaching year four and I don't have a publisher or agent!

Don't get me wrong, I am very happy for him. I'm also inspired by him. So I will say again as I said before,
Way to got Chris!

I hope you have a good contract with your publisher for these movies!
